Introduction

Which summer weather do you prefer: Sunny or thunderstorming? Declare your allegiance and let’s find out!

As always, there are three options: sunny, thunderstorms, or either! The either option is used to help balance teams, so if you’re not dedicated to one side, this is a good option to help us out!

This Salmonfest will run during the Salmon Run comp on July 10 - 12.

Salmonfest Structure

There are three categories to this fest:

  1. Popularity: Vote in a Google Form on the days of the fest! Participants, friends, and server members all get a vote!

  2. Golden eggs: Submit your highest golden egg score! The team with the highest average score wins this category!

  3. Power eggs: The individual with the highest power egg score wins this category for their team, so don’t just focus on Golden Eggs!

The team to take the most categories is the winner! Enjoy your bragging rights and celebratory roles!

Player Conduct

All server rules apply to the splatfest channels and during the splatfest itself, including in the Twitch chats. Additionally, unsportsmanlike conduct can result in foreitfiture of all future splatfest participation and removal from the fest. Unsportsmanlike conduct may contain any of the following:

  1. Lashing out at another player in any way.

  2. Excessive self-deprecation, including belittling your gameplay where the other team can see. This diminishes victory for the other team, as well as manipulates everyone into comforting you. You may express discontent with your own play in your team’s private text chats, but don’t be too hard on yourself.

  3. Bragging or otherwise belittling the other team, especially if they lost. You may celebrate wins, but keep it brief and within reason.

Salmonfest Procedure

Since this is a Salmon Run based tournament, there will be no official stream and no slot sign-ups. Instead, you may play as often or as little as you want during the designated comp. You may start at any rank and you may play with your teammates, the other team, or randoms.

Submitting your score:

  • Play your heart out!

  • Collect as many golden eggs and power eggs as you can!

  • Everyone is required to submit a screenshot from the Nintendo Switch Online (NSO) app. If you don’t have access to this app, you may submit a screenshot that a friend grabs for you, but your name must match the name you sign-up under and you must notify the mods beforehand.

  • Ensure that your screenshot includes the full team roster, including the following:

    • The names of all four teammates

    • The golden egg scores of all four teammates

    • The power egg scores of all four teammates

    • The weapons of all four teammates

Your screenshot should look like the following: https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/668968312109269016/688581124737204343/image0.png

Don’ts:

  • No princess rounds.

  • No incomplete games. The round must have resulted in a victory to count.

  • Absolutely no submissions from the Nintendo Switch (screenshots or videos from the console).

Scoring System

There will be a Google Form linked and pinned in your private team channel for score submission. Once you’re done playing or have a score you’re satisfied with, submit it and your screenshot to the Google Form and we’ll take it from there!

The scores will be calculated in the follow manner:

  • Popularity: the team with the highest percentage of the popularity vote will win.

  • Golden Eggs: the highest team average will win. This means we will take the sum of the submitted scores and divide it by the number of submitted scores. This will help keep things fair in the case of lopsided team distribution or dropouts.

  • Power Eggs: the highest individual power egg score will win. This means that the team that the person who gathered the most power eggs belongs to will win.

Pinging Players

You may play with anyone you want. If you wish, you may ping specifically for other splatfesters (of both teams) or for people on your team in #ASSEMBLE-A-SPLATFEST-CREW. Do not ping for players in your private team channels. Otherwise, you may ping in #assemble-a-crew or play with randoms.

Dropping Out

If you have to drop out of the fest for any reason, please let mods know in #contact-a-mod-splatfest.

Ending the Salmonfest

Once the Salmon Run comp closes, score submission will open. Make sure you record your highest score and submit it to the Google Form pinned in your individual team channel. Results will be posted sometime on July 14th.
